The holidays are here, and we are in the time of year where many of us struggle to maintain healthy habits surrounding nutrition and exercise. But we firmly believe that healthy habits can still be maintained during this time!
We can have our holiday cake, and eat it too! Does this dialogue sound familiar as the holidays get closer? "I'm not going to be able to workout - I'm traveling too much. I have so many parties, there is no way I can eat healthy! I'll just pick up healthy eating in January." If this sounds like you, don't sweat it. We have all been there before, this is the most challenging time of the year to focus on ourselves but that doesn't mean we just give up! By keeping the big picture in mind (our health), we can prepare ways that will allow us to enjoy holiday treats AND set up for success in the new year. 6 Ways To Stay Consistent Through The Holidays 1. Plan Ahead Prep meals around scheduled holiday parties and family feasts. 2. Communicate Your Commitments Write these down and recognize that these events only take up a few days of the month. 3. Eat Mindfully Write You can enjoy treat and goodies, just not all the time or all at once. By enjoying your holiday meals and making it a point to eat mindfully during regular meals, you will be in a much better position after the holidays. 4. Avoid All Or Nothing Mindsets You don’t have to throw in the towel because of a few indulgent meals or days.
